Its been a great journey for the last 5 months. I have never felt more secure and confident in God in the last 12 years. Once we embark on the journey to be a disciple of Jesus without any inhibitions, he leads us on the path towards spiritual freedom. Its been a tremendous revival for me and my family ever since we trusted in God and made the bold move to become Hot for Jesus again. I am thoroughly enjoying my relationship with God and feel more responsible and inspired. We began our Church meetings in the end of August as 2 disciples and now we are 6 disciples and having nearly 30 people attend the House Church every Sunday. Many are studying the Bible. I work on a full time job with IBM and find it difficult to update the website. I sincerely apologize to all of you who wish to follow the progress of the Church in
- Several have been bogged down by troubled marriages(as I was). The only way is for at least one of the spouses to remain patient and faithful in the Lord. God will turn things around once he sees that what he desires is changed in the couple. It took us nearly 12 years to come back to serve God fervently, but we are more mature and can relate to several married couples who are leading hopeless and faithless lives.
- Ill health like depressive illness, which has occurred to many in the Church owing to deep disappointments in marriage, ministry, strained relationships, unfinished education, financial problems etc.
- Many full time workers in
India were most affected during the Henry Criete episode(Most disciples were not even aware). They lost their focus on God and his vision and began to accrue security for themselves in the world despite continuing to be a part of the staff. Since a part of their salaries began to go into paying EMIs for purchasing houses, furnishings for the houses, buying cars, holiday packages etc, they could not decide to leave the full time ministry despite their desire to serve God and his people wholeheartedly had faded. So leading the Churches with half hearted zeal for God has done its damage and the same has percolated down to the Christians. No reason why the Churches which were full of zeal and life are now dying and becoming like the spiritual groups we had left in the past. It would take radical decisions on the part of the leaders in charge today to come back and be zealous for God again. So calling out to the congregation from the Pulpit without showing the way is not going to inspire the Christians.
The saving grace is that there is still some full time workers whose life is an example for several to follow but they are just one odd exception and have also quit seeing the years of double standards in the leadership above. They have shown no fear in quitting as they trust in God(Heb 6:10) that he will help them in their livelihood as they serve God truly without any inhibitions. Its testing time for the ICC in
